Say you want to solve 6 x 13 = (78) All you have to do is solve 6 x 10 first, which is 60, and then solve 6 x 3, which is 18... add it up and there's your answer! What if you have 8 x 24 (= 192). Multiply 8 times 2 =160; then multiply 8 times 4 =32; finally, add 160 + 32 = 192.
