Addition II Break the second number in a way that it fits with the first number. For example, 7 + 4 = 11
Blocks like these helped me a lot when I was younger! Once you get the hang of it you have no idea of how much it helps. And it works just as well for larger numbers. For example: 23 + 16 = 39. Do the operation is steps, first add the 3 and the 6 on one side, and add the 20 and the 10 on the other. Then add both results. |
